Arctic blast arrives as predicted!
Just look what a difference a day makes! This first picture is Sunday mid-day at Cataloochee Ski area. The second, Monday mid-day! The artic blast provided the Maggie Valley ski area with both some natural snow and gave them the ability to turn on every snow gun they have!
The town of Boone, North Carolina was a winter wonderland earlier in the day with near white-out conditions, see image below.
Even the High South town of Highlands got a good reminder it is still winter, see below:
Sapphire Valley and Ski Sapphire Valley got a dusting of snow and while the ski area was unable to start snow making operations, they hope to starting Monday night. The image below is of Ski Sapphire Valley this morning.
